About Ceuta

It covers an area of approximately 28 km². Ceuta was a Carthaginian colony before iit was fortified by Caliph of Córdoba Abd al-Rahman III. In the early 15th century Ceuta was seized by the Portuguese and ceded to Spain in 1668.

Places of interest in Ceuta are the remains of the fourteenth century Arab walls, the fortress, the cathedral built on the site of a sixth century Christian temple, the Plaza de Africa in the heart of the city and several mosques.

Ceuta has a pleasant Mediterranean climate with an average temperature of 20° and an abundance of sunny days which makes it an ideal holiday destination the whole year round. As Ceuta is the point where the Mediterranean and the Atlantic come together, all kinds of watersports and beach recreation can be found here.

Ceuta Port

Ceuta is a Spanish enclave on the northern tip of the Moroccan coast and the meeting point of two continents, two seas and four cultures - Christian, Muslim, Hebrew and Hindu, all living side-by-side in perfect harmony.
