About Lanzarote
Lanzarote is the most easterly of the Canary Islands, and at 37 miles long and 12 miles wide it is the fourth largest of the Canaries. The island enjoys warm temperatures all year round, with temperatures ranging from 21 degrees Celsius in January to 29 degrees Celsius in August. And with an annual total of just 140mm of rainfall, Lanzarote is an ideal getaway all year round.
The canary islands have volcanic origins making the landscape very distinctive. Lanzarote's most recent eruptions only occurred in the 19th century, and with a dry climate and lack of erosion this has meant that Lanzarote's landscape hasn't changed much in appearance. This gives the island a unique look and offers some stunning scenery. The longest Volcanic Tunnel in the world, called the Atlántida Tunnel, can be found in Lanzarote. It is 7km long and features some beautiful caves and hidden gems.
