Ferries to and from Holyhead
Irish Ferries operate a range of fast and conventional ferries on their routes, with extensive on board facilities for your comfort and enjoyment. Board facilities include free WiFi, a brasserie, cafe, shops, bars and two cinemas.
Stena Line ships have many facilities including lounges, play areas, shops, wi-fi access, bars, cafes and restaurants as well as a choice of comfortable en-suite cabins.
Holyhead Port
Holyhead Ferry Port is located in Anglesey, North Wales. It is a busy Ferry port with routes to Dublin and Dun Laoghaire in Ireland making it an important link for surface transport between England, Wales and Ireland. Archaeological evidence shows people have been sailing from Holyhead to Ireland for the past 4000 years.
Holyhead port facilities
Long term car parking facilities are available. The main car park is located a short distance from the Holyhead Ferry Terminal, but a free Park & Ride bus service operates around the ships arrival and departure times. Payment can be made in cash or by card via one of the machines in the car park.
A short Term car park is available outside the main terminal building for dropping off and picking up passengers. The length of stay is restricted to 20 minutes and is free of charge.
Cars are parked at owner's risk. The car parks are patrolled and have CCTV coverage.
Getting to Holyhead
Holyhead Ferry Port is located near to Holyhead Town Centre, and is reached by following the A5 from the Midlands, or by the A55 from Chester. From there, Holyhead Ferry Port is well signposted.
There are frequent buses and coaches to Anglesey and Holyhead from England and Wales. National Express also offers a service to the Holyhead Ferry terminal.
The Holyhead train station is part of the main line making it easily accessible from the rest of the UK.

Holyhead is the largest town on the island of Anglesey. However, Holyhead is actually on a linked smaller island - Holy Island - hence the name Holyhead. The town and port are easily reached by car by taking the A55.
