About Capraia

Capraia is of volcanic origin, has an area of 19 km² and the highest point on the island is 466 m above sea level. Capraia is about 8 km long and about 4 km wide. It has a coastline that is about 30 km in circumference. The island is part of the Arcipelago Toscano National Park and marine sanctuary.

Capraia produces wine, and is a centre of the anchovy fishing industry. About 40 km to the north is the island of Gorgona, which is also famous for its anchovies.
