Motril has a commercial, leisure and fishing port that links the south of Spain and the north of Morocco. Naviera Armas operates the ferry from Al Hoceima once a week, the ferry from Melilla six times per week and the ferry from Nador three times per week. These routes can be booked online with AFerry.

Ferries to and from Motril

The FRS Ferries fleet is extremely modern and FRS offers a relaxing and professional service. Their largest vessel is called the Tanger Jet II and can accommodate 900 passengers. It can hold 238 cars or 10 trucks and 150 cars.

Naviera Armas has a modern fleet of vessels with a great selection of bars and restaurants. Any journey with Naviera Armas is bound to be a comfortable and relaxing experience.


About Motril

Motril is a Spanish town located to the south-east of Andalusia on the Mediterranean Sea. In this beautiful town you'll find many restaurants where you can enjoy excellent food, monuments, museums, parks, wonderful beaches and a long list of outdoors activities.


Motril Port

Situated on the south coast of Spain, Motril links South Europe and North Africa with its ferry to Morocco. You can book this ferry easily with AFerry.


Motril port facilities

The construction of the port began in 1908 to export sugarcane, salt and iron. It's located nearby the Paseo del Puerto.

There is a free bus service that will take you from the Motril dock to the Malaga bus station on arrival, and back from Malaga bus station to Motril for the departure. We recommend booking this service in advance.


Getting to Motril

Motril is well connected by road to the rest of Spain. It's easy to get here from Malaga taking the motorway Autovía del Mediterráneo to Nerja and then the N-340 to Motril. From Granada taking the A-44 to Izbor, then the N-323 to the junction with the N-340 and following the signals to Motril. And finally, from Almería taking the Autovía del Mediterráneo to Adra and then the N-340 to Motril.
