Kapellskar Ferries

Kapellskar is about 60 miles north of Stockholm and from here you can take ferries to Mariehamn, the capital of Aland, as well as to Paldiski in Estonia.

Getting to Kapellskar port

The Port of Kapellskär can be reached from a number of places. For example Arlanda, Uppsala and Norrtälje are within a 100 km radius of the port and Gävle, Västerås and Nyköping are less than 200 km away.

By bus
The SL bus service 631 operates between the Port of Kapellskär and Norrtälje. Consult the SL website for the running times of the buses.

By car
If you are approaching from Stockholm the distance is approximately 90 km, the majority of which is motorway (E18) of high standard.

If you are approaching from Arlanda, Uppsala or Gävle, take route 77 and then turn onto the E18 at Norrtälje.

If you are approaching from Örebro, Västerås or the Rosersberg logistics centre, take the E18 via Norrortsleden at Häggvik.

From Stockholm, take the E18 to Norrtälje and then follow the signs to Kapellskar ferry port.

Parking at Kapellskar port

The Port of Kapellskar has a large passenger parking lot. Use entrance B for access to the parking lot.

There are multiple charging brackets for parking with automatic ticket dispensers. Parking is free for up one hour and it and it is possible to book for periods of up to 14 days.
